Rajendra S Pawar

Mr. Rajendra S Pawar is a member on the Prime Minister’s National Council on Skill Development; has served on the Prime Minister’s National Task Force (1998) commissioned to develop India into an IT Superpower; is an advisor to the Hunan Province of China; has been an Advisor to President Mbeki of South Africa. As President of MAIT (1990–92), he integrated MAIT activities into those of other leading industry associations. MAIT played an active role in shaping the IT policies of the Government during this formative phase. Mr. Pawar serves on the Governing Boards of IIT Delhi, IIM Bangalore, ISB Hyderabad, The Scindia School and the University Court of Delhi University. A Fellow of CSI and IETE, he was honoured as “IT Man of the Year” by Dataquest (1998), “Master Entrepreneur of the year” by Ernst & Young (1999), Distinguished Alumnus of IIT Delhi (1995) and Madhav Awardee of The Scindia School (1999). He is being honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 2011. Currently the chairman of NASSCOM.
