Rajagiri Hospital is a multi-specialty tertiary care hospital in the south Indian city of Kochi, Kerala. It is owned and managed by Rajagiri (CMI) group of institutions.

Rajagiri Healthcare and Education Project is a joint initiative of CMI Sacred Heart Province, together with two of its prominent units, St. Antony’s Monastery, Aluva and Sacred Heart Monastery, Thevara.[1]

Overview

Rajagiri Hospital is a ₹300 crore healthcare facility located along Chunangamvely, a suburb of Kochi and has a 40-acre campus. The hospital has an in-patient capacity of 560 beds[2] and has 24 hours emergency and trauma care service which is equipped to treat all medical and surgical emergencies. Rajagiri is also a Angioplasty Surgery Hospital with 100% success rate.

The proposed 1200 bed healthcare facility will include a Medical College, an Institute of Paramedical Sciences, a College of Nursing, a senior Citizen’s Village and a rehabilitation centre in addition to the present 560 bed hospital. The plan also includes a Dental College, Nursing College,College of Paramedical Sciences and College of Pharmacy, Centers for Alternative Medicines, Various Hostels, and Quarters, etc.

Facilities

The core facilities at the hospital include general medicine, spinal surgery, neotology, hepatobiliary, pancreato (Gl) surgery, dermatology, plastics-microvascular and cosmetic surgery, pathology, pediatric surgery, rheumatology, adolescent medicine, endocrinology, ENT, physical medicine, thoracic surgery, gerontology, dental surgery with specialties, hematology, ophthalmology and interventional radiology.[3]

Radiology services are housed in a 5000 square feet wing with 3.0-tesla MRI unit, 128-slice CT scan, mammography, digital fluoroscopy and radiographic units, OPG, bone densitometry, TV and TEE imaging, high-end colour doppler ultrasound scanner with endovascular surgery and digital catheterisation laboratories.
