R.V. Swamy ("அந்தாதி கவிஞர்" ஆர்.வீ. ஸ்வாமி), an engineer by profession is an ardent devotee of Sri Ranganatha. He is a personality with multifaces viz., a dedicated Highways Engineer, highly devoted Sri Vaishnavar and an eminent Vaastu scholar.

Life

R.V. Swamy was born on 9 May 1948 at Udumalpet, Tamil Nadu, India. After completing his schooling in Udumalpet, he pursued his higher education at Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore. He started his career as a Highways Engineer to serve the public but his interest towards Vaishnavism and Vaastu Shastra never took a back seat.

In the 1990s, he first wrote Sri Akkammadevi Thiruvanthathi praising his Kula devatha Sri Akkammadevi. As a guru to reach the Paramatha, HER blessings brought out 8 more Andhathi's from him spreading the divine message of the Supreme Soul to this universe.

Service

R.V. Swamy, after 34 years of his dedeicated service to Tamil Nadu Highways Department (1972–2006), retired as a Divisional Engineer. Though he retired from public service his contribution towards Vaishnavism and Tamil literature never took a halt. His recent literary work — A Poetry Book titled "Divyadesa Manimalai (PartI/II/III)" with 8000+ phrases is a crown to all of his contributions; presenting the importance of 108 Divyadesams, Rarest of temple deity pictures, Temple sthala puranam, Azhwar/Acharya vaibhavam, Thirukoyil vaibhavam, Guruparamparai vaibhavam, temple functions, Palasruthi, etc., This is one of the greatest contribution of R.V. Swamy towards Tamil literature and Vaishnava world.

Vaishnavism
He has written 9 Andhathi’s in Tamil, praising the glories of Sriman Narayana and his disciples. His writings started with "குலதேவி மணிமாலை, a poetry book with 150+ songs on Sri Akkammadevi, Sri Renugadevi and Sriman Narayana. With lot of encouragement from his friends & family and with the divine blessings of his Acharya "Anna" - Sri Rangaraja Battar and Thirukoshtipuram Swamigal he was able to contribute the below writings to the vaishnava world.

He always had a great affection and bhakthi towards Vaishnava Acharya Sri Ramanuja which provoked him to bring out a wonderful book "Swamyin Ramanuja Vaibhavam - ஸ்வாமியின் ராமானுச வைபவம்" depicting the life history of Sri Ramanujacharya and Guruparmparai Vaibhavam.

Vaastu Shastra
Being an expert in Indian Vaastu Shastra, he is the author of four best selling books in Vaastu, published by Vijaya Pathipagam, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. He has delivered lectures on the Vaastu Shastra in colleges, conferences and to huge mass of people in public functions. Being an exponent of Vaastu he propagates Vaastu to the society through his lectures, seminars, slide-shows, writings and researches. Many well-known individuals, commercial establishments and industrial concerns have benefited from his expertise and experience as a Vaastu specialist.

Awards & Titles

R.V. Swamy's contribution to Sri Vaishnavism & to Tamil literature has been well appreciated by Sri Vaishanva scholars and in the year 2003, he was crowned with the title "Andhathi Kavingar" R.V. Swamy! by the Vaishnava magazine Venkatathri Krupa.

In the year 2010, he was awarded "Vaishna Rathna" award by the Vaishnava scholars in Thirunagur Vaishnva Conference.
