Quick Heal Technologies Ltd., founded in 1995, is an IT security solutions provider headquartered in Pune, India. The company was formerly known as CAT Computer Services (P) Ltd and was started as a computer service center in 1995. Over the years it established itself as a complete IT security solutions provider and the company was renamed as Quick Heal Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in 2007.[2]

The company develops security software for consumers, servers, cloud computing environments and small and medium enterprises. Its enterprise product offerings operate under the brand name Seqrite.[3]

Quick Heal Technologies is listed on BSE[4] and NSE.[5] It operates out of 64 offices and warehouses across 36 cities in India and through its subsidiaries that are present in Japan, Dubai, the United States of America and Kenya.[6] As of December 31, 2015, Quick Heal had 1,396 employees including a research & development (R&D) team of 547 employees.[7] The company has an active license user base of 7.3 million as of December 31, 2015.[8]

History

Quick Heal was founded in 1993, as "CAT Computer Services (P) Ltd".[9]

The first branch office opened in Nashik in 2003. Opening of fully functional Mumbai and Nagpur branches In 2004, Quick Heal started operations in Hyderabad.[9] Opens branches in Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Madurai[10] Branches opened at Ahmedabad, Surat, Indore, Chandigarh

In 2007, CAT changed its name to "Quick Heal Technologies Ltd", for establishment of dedicated R&D Lab and opened a new R&D center opens in Pune in 2007.[11] Sales and support branch opened at Aurangabad, Coimbatore, Vizag and Cochin in 2007.[10]

In 2008, Quick Heal were selected as hosts for the AVAR 2008 International conference held at Delhi.[12]

In 2010, Quick Heal received an investment of ₹ 60 Crores from Sequoia Capital[13] And new branch offices were opened in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. In 2012, offices were opened in Japan and US, and in 2013, offices were opened in Africa and UAE.

In 2015, Quick Heal grew to 31 branch offices and 1100+ employees, and has over 8 million customers worldwide.

In 2015, Quick Heal unveiled its new enterprise security brand 'Seqrite'[14]

In 2016, Quick Heal Technologies launched its IPO which valued the company at a market value of INR 15,000 Mn.

Acquisitions

In 2016, Quick Heal Technologies acquired an IT security firm Junco Technologies to launch Seqrite Services, a new line of business.[15]
