Pulakesh Barua

Pulakesh Barua is an Asom Gana Parishad politician from Assam. He was elected in Assam Legislative Assembly election in 1985 and 1991 from Barkhetry constituency and served Speaker Assam Legislative Assembly from January 9, 1986 to July 27, 1991.[1][2]

He had formed the Natun Asom Gana Parishad (NAGP) in 1991 along with Dinesh Goswami and Bhrigu Kumar Phukan but merged the party with the AGP in 1994. He joined Bharatiya Janata Party in August 2015 in presence of Siddhartha Bhattacharya.
