Pretoria North High School (PNHS) is a medium-sized, coed, public, Afrikaans high school located in the Pretoria North suburb of Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. PNHS has a diverse student population. As of 2012 the school has over 900 students.

History

The first private school was established in 1890 by Theodore Erasmus at his farm he founded West Fountain (behind Wannenburg scrap yard). In 1895 Jan Booysen established a state-little school on the east side of the Apies River. Since 1904 the Anglican Church in General Beyers Street has been used as a public school, School Pretoria North.The first classrooms of the Pretoria North Parallel Medium School (Primary Danie Malan today) were founded on May 20, 1909. On January 19, 1943, the Junior High School Pretoria North seceded and the standard six to eight students went over to House Zealand.

The construction of the school started in 1944 and was completed in 1946. Since 1951 Pretoria North is a full-fledged high school.
