The Head of the Republic of Dagestan - is the highest official and the head of the executive power of the Republic of Dagestan.

Dagestan Head's policy is to ensure compliance with the Constitution and federal laws and the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Dagestan, as well as the equality of nations and the rights and freedoms of man and citizen, and the preservation of the unity and territorial integrity of the Republic of Dagestan. Head of the Republic can not be a person under 30.

Term of office - four years. Appointed by the President of the Russian Federation.

As of January 28, 2014, the acting Head of the Republic of Dagestan is Ramazan Gadzhimuradovich Abdulatipov.
