Polar membrane

This article is about biological membranes that express polarity. For the specialized region of a bacterial cell membrane, see Polar organelle.

A polar membrane is a lipid membrane that expresses polarity.[1] These membranes are unique in that they can be manipulated chemically and their electrical properties can be studied by application of biophysical techniques.[2]
