Plantago ovata, known by many common names including blond plantain,[1] desert Indianwheat,[2] blond psyllium,[3] and ispaghul,[3] is a medicinal plant native to Western Asia and Southern Asia. The plant can be found growing wild in the southwestern United States, where it is considered a possibly introduced species.[4]
It is a common source of psyllium seed husks, a material used as dietary fiber.[5]
