Picton (ward)

Coordinates: 53°24′14″N 2°56′20″W / 53.404°N 2.939°W / 53.404; -2.939 Picton is a Liverpool City Council Ward within the Liverpool Wavertree Parliamentary constituency. The population at the 2011 census was 17,009.[1] The boundary was altered in 2004 losing some of the pre-2004 ward and gaining from the former Kensington, Smithdown and Arundel wards. It contains the Edge Hill area and parts of Wavertree.[2]

Cllr Ian Jobling defected from the Liberal Democrats to Labour in August 2010. He subsequently successfully stood the Allerton and Hunts Cross ward.[4]
