Peter Metcalfe (born 5 November 1931[1]) birth registered in Prescot district, is an English professional rugby league footballer of the 1950s, and coach, playing at representative level for England, and Rugby League XIII, and at club level for Pilkington Recs, and St. Helens, as a Fullback, Centre, or Stand-off/Five-eighth, i.e. number 1, 3 or 4, or 6, and coaching at club level for Pilkington Recs.
Playing career
International honours
Peter Metcalfe won a cap for England while at St. Helens in 1953 against France, and represented Rugby League XIII while at St. Helens in 1954 against Australasia.[2]
County Cup final appearances
Peter Metcalfe played Stand-off/Five-eighth, and scored 5-conversions in St. Helens' 16-8 victory over Wigan in the 1953 Lancashire Cup final during the 1953–54 season at Station Road, Swinton on Saturday 24 October 1953.
