Personal Journals is the first official album by American hip hop artist Sage Francis. It was released on April 16, 2002. It was Sage Francis' first album released on Anticon, following the self-released Sick Of series of albums. Recording sessions took place in 2001. Production was handled by various producers, including Sixtoo, Jel and DJ Mayonnaise. Upon its release, Personal Journals received good reviews from critics, including a 9.5 rating on RapReviews.com. The single "Climb Trees" was released on April 9, 2002.

Reception

Personal Journals has received generally favorable reviews from critics. Allmusic gave the album four out of five stars.[1] Pitchfork Media gave it an 8.7 out of 10 rating.[2] RapReviews.com gave the album a 9.5 out of 10.[3] Robert Christgau gave it a "*" which means an honorable mention.[4] Finally Stylus Magazine gave the album an A- rating.[5]
