Pernambut is a Taluk town in Vellore district, Tamil Nadu State, India. Satghar was a taluk in older days before state divide. Pernambut is 35 km away from Vaniyambadi. The town is famous for its Leather industry.[1] The Yelagiri hills are about 60 km away, and are a nice cool place for visitors. It very attractive for the children as well as for the locals.[2]

Pernambut is famous for its leather industries as well as beedi factories where more of the locals work.[3]

The town is having a good transport facilities for all directions through State Highways major district roads and village roads. These roads are having access to surrounding important towns like Vaniyambadi, Ambur, Gudiyatham, Pallikonda and Vellore. It also connects metro cities of Chennai and Bangalore. .

Transport

Local transport in Pernambut is by bus or private vehicles. Buses ply frequently on the circular road surrounding the city centre. Heavy local transport can be seen between Pernambut and its major suburbs which include V.kota, KGF, Bangalore, Chennai, Ambur and Gudiyatham. Tourist taxis are also an option for out of town trips. Locals typically traverse the city on foot, the Share Auto common in Indian cities are largely available for local transport.
