Paul Beirne

Paul Beirne, is a sports executive. In November 2016, Beirne was named the first employee of the nascent Canadian Premier League soccer league.[1]

In the summer of 2014, he moved to England to become the Head of Commercial Development at English Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion.[2]

In November 2013, he was named the Executive Vice-President of Ticketing with the Ottawa Senators.[3] He was previously the Vice-President of Business Operations for Toronto FC [4] starting as the Club's first employee when it was founded in 2006.[5]

At Toronto FC, Beirne was noted for being accessible to fans (supporters) through use of new media, including online discussion groups and Twitter.[6]

Beirne's professional sports management career includes the Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs teams of the National Hockey League, the Toronto Raptors of the National Basketball Association and the Toronto FC Major League Soccer franchise.[7]
