Patrick Madrid

Patrick Madrid (born 1960) is an American Catholic author, radio host, apologist, the host of several EWTN television and radio series,[1] and was the publisher of Envoy Magazine.

He is the author of 16 books and booklets on Catholic themes, including the popular Surprised By Truth series of conversion testimony books. He served as vice president for eight years (1988 through 1995) at Catholic Answers.[2]

Biography

Patrick Madrid has been active in apologetics since 1987. He hosts the Morning show on Immaculate heart radio from 6:00 through 9:00 (Western Time), discussing the problems in today's culture.[3] He has conducted Thousands of apologetic seminars, in English and Spanish, at parishes, conferences, and universities across the United States, as well as throughout Europe, and in Canada, Latin America, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. He was a regular presenter at the Franciscan University of Steubenville's "Defending the Faith" summer conferences and has been a guest lecturer in theology at Christendom College in their "Major Speakers" program, but has now retired from that position. He has engaged in public debates with Protestant, Mormon, atheist, and other non-Catholic spokesmen. He owned a moderately sized company known as Envoy institute, that issued out thousands of magazines a month. He no longer runs the company but is well connected with his associates of the company.[2]

He earned a bachelor of science degree in business management from the University of Phoenix as well as a bachelor of philosophy degree (B.Phil.) and a master's degree (M.A.) in dogmatic theology from the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio. He has also done graduate studies in theology at the University of Dallas. He and his wife and family live in Ohio.[2]
