The scalemouth jobfish, Parapristipomoides squamimaxillaris, is a species of snapper native to the Pacific Ocean, where it occurs around various islands from New Caledonia to Easter Island. It inhabits areas with rocky substrates at depths from 130 to 460 m (430 to 1,510 ft). This species grows to a length of 51.3 cm (20.2 in). It is a commercially important species as a food fish. This species is the only known member of its genus.[1]
