Paolo Vinaccia (born 27 March 1954) is an Italian composer, jazz drummer and percussionist. He has lived in Norway since 1979.[1][2][3][4]

Career

Vinaccia has worked with Terje Rypdal, Bendik Hofseth, Jan Eggum, Knut Reiersrud (in Four Roosters), Gisle Torvik, Ole Amund Gjersvik and Jonas Fjeld. He has toured and recorded with Palle Mikkelborg, Mike Mainieri, Jon Christensen and David Darling. With Arild Andersen, he performed at the London Jazz Festival in 2008.[1][3][5]

Vinaccia has contributed on more than 100 albums,[1] and together with Terje Rypdal he composed the commissioned work for the Canal Street jazz and blues festival in Arendal in 2006. The concert was set up with the band and four male choir on four Colin Archer's.
