P. Geetha Jeevan Nadar is the current MLA of tuticourin constituency, and she was the minister of social welfare in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu during 2006-11 DMK Government. Prior to being allocated the social welfare portfolio, she was in-charge of Ministry of Animal Husbandary.[1] She was born in Thoothukudi on 6 May 1970. She holds a master's degree in commerce. She is a correspondent of Geetha Matric higher secondary school, Thoothukudi. She is the daughter of the former Thoothukudi MLA N. Periasamy.
Political career
She was a member and chairperson of Tutucorin district panchayat between the years 1996-2006.[2] She defeated Danielraj from ADMK with about 15000 votes in Thoothukudi constituency to become member of the assembly.[3][4] Social welfare ministry portfolio was handed over to her when Poongothai Aladi Aruna was implicated in a telephone controversy.[5]
Personal
She is a daughter of Ex MLA.N.Periyasamy. Completed M.Com from A.P.C Mahalakshmi College for women, tuticourin. She got married to Mr. Jeevan Jacob Rajendran on September 7,1990 and blessed with one son (Dr.Magizh santhosh David., MBBS.,MD) and one daughter (Jeena Ebi Sundari B.Arch). Also she is the correspondent of Geetha matriculation school.
