Origen is a League of Legends team that competes in the European League of Legends Championship Series (EU LCS). It was founded by Enrique "xPeke" Cedeño Martínez after his departure from Fnatic. Origin placed second in the 2015 Summer EU LCS, qualifying for the 2015 League of Legends World Championship where they ultimately finished 3-4th.

History

2014

December 7, Origen was founded.[1] December 17, xPeke, Amazing, Zvanillan (Aka. NielsXD) and Mithy were announced as the first four players of the team.

2015

January 2015 sOAZ joined.[2] February 4, Team qualifies for the challenger series.[3] April 8 the team finished first in 2015 EU CS Spring Playoffs and qualified for 2015 EU LCS Summer Split. April 30, Ducky joined as temporary coach.[4]

May 16, Cyanide, Araneae and Casadar joined as Sub. September 1, Ducky stepped down as coach.[5] September 17, Team Analyst Hermit becomes head coach.[6]

Origen qualified for the 2015 League of Legends World Championship. The team defeated Flash Wolves 3 - 1 in the first round of bracket.[7] Origen reached the semi-finals of the before losing to SK Telecom T1.[8]

2016

Origen finished 2nd to G2 Esports in the 2016 Spring EU LCS finals.

Origen surprised many by struggling in the 2016 Summer EU LCS, where they finished 9th, the penultimate place.[9]
