Ootischenia

Coordinates: 49°17′06″N 117°37′53″W / 49.284883°N 117.631301°W / 49.284883; -117.631301 (Ootischenia) Ootischenia /ˌtˈʃɛnjə/ is a designated place near Castlegar, British Columbia. In 2006, it had a population of 856. Founded as one of several Doukhobour colonies in the area, it is also the location of Castlegar's two golf courses.

The song "Ootischenia" by the Be Good Tanyas on their album Hello Love is about singer Frazey Ford's childhood home in Ootischenia.[1]
