Olivier Hinnekens

Olivier Hinnekens (born September 14, 1969) is a Belgian politician and policy advisor for the Christian Democrat Group in the Flemish Parliament.[1] From November 2011-December 2014 he was one of the Vice-Presidents of the European Movement International. Since December 2015, he was reelected as Board Member. He is also the current president of the European Movement Belgium.

Career

He started his European career in 1989 with the Young European Federalists (JEF). From 1997 until 1999 he was active with the Union of European Federalists in Brussels. From 2008-2014 he was also Treasurer of UEF.[2]

Between 1998 and 2005 he was Vice-President of the European Movement Belgium. At the Federal Assembly of the European Movement International in Warsaw in November 2011, he was elected Vice-President of the European Movement International.[3]

On a local level, since 2006 he is the president of CD&V Tervuren.
