Nutgrove Shopping Centre

Nutgrove Shopping Centre is a shopping centre located in Rathfarnham, South Dublin, Ireland. Anchor tenants include Tesco, McDonald's, Dunnes Stores, Penneys and Argos. Since its grand opening in October 1984 at which the ribbon was officially cut by Coronation Street actress Helen Worth who portrays Gail McIntyre, then Tilsley, on the long running British soap opera, Nutgrove Shopping centre has been serving the shoppers of South County Dublin. The centre was built on part of the old Lamb's Jam orchards. The Centre is now more than 30 years old and recent store additions are: Carraig Donn, Flying Tiger,Paco and Claires. Plus there are a substantial amount of phone store brands now also available in the Centre, such as Eir/Meteor, Carphone Warehouse, Three, Vodafone and CEX.

The first drive-through restaurant (a McDonald's drive-thru) in Europe opened at the centre in 1985.[1] As well in the discussions of the Social Welfare Bill of 1989, the experiment of the country's first social welfare services office being situated within this Shopping Mall environment are discussed. The centre has nearly 1,000 free surface car parking spaces, 70 shops and 5 restaurants: Cafe Calypso (formerly Bewleys), Four Star Pizza, Burger King, Camile Thai, and a McDonald's. The most recent addition to Nutgrove Shopping Centre is a new Food Court opened in late 2008. This now features additional eateries of Subway, Starbucks, & Quigleys. It is a bright spacious area where customers can recharge, relax, and avail of free Wifi.
