Nu-Venture[1] is a bus operator in Aylesford, Kent, England.

History

Nu-Venture was founded in the 1960s as a coach company,[2][3][4] and once operated coach tour holidays all over Europe, and in the 1980s a London commuter service,[5][6][7][8] but coach hire activities ceased in 2010.

Under contract to Kent County Council, Nu-Venture now operate a number of bus services, including much of the Transweald 295 / 297 route from Tunbridge Wells and Tenterden to Ashford during the daytime on Mondays to Fridays.

Nu-Venture operate a small number of low-floor buses, but, amongst older buses, a quantity of new-to-London 1980s Leyland Titan double-deck buses, converted from dual- to single-door specification, remain,[9][10][11]

As at July 2014, Nu-Venture operated 41 routes[12]

Incidents

In November 2012 a Plaxton Prestige bodied DAF SB220 caught fire in Blue Bell Hill village, there were no passengers on board.[13][14]
In November 2012 a bus driver had to be rescued after his double decker bus blown over into a ditch trapping him in the vehicle in Cliffe, there were no passengers were on board.[15]
