Nicholas James Sebastian Rowe (born 22 November 1966) is a Scottish actor.[1] Early in his career, he portrayed the young Sherlock Holmes in Barry Levinson's production Young Sherlock Holmes (1985).

Early life

Rowe was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, the son of English parents Alison, a singer, and Andrew Rowe, a Conservative Party Member of Parliament and editor.[2] He attended Eton, where he acted in school productions, and received a BA in Hispanic Studies from Bristol University.

Career

Rowe has appeared in numerous movies, television programmes and theatre plays. He played Sherlock Holmes in Barry Levinson's production Young Sherlock Holmes, having read for the part while a pupil at Eton.

Personal life

Rowe was the partner of Lou Gish for six years, until her death from cancer in February 2006.[3]
