Next PSOE Federal Congress

The next PSOE leadership election—in the form of a party congress—will be held at some point during late 2016 or 2017 to elect a new party leadership. Former Secretary General Pedro Sánchez was ousted after a party crisis resulted in the resignation of half his executive committee[1] and a troubled federal committee in which Sánchez lost a key ballot.[2] A caretaker managing commission was appointed to lead the party in the interim, headed by Asturias President Javier Fernández, until an extraordinary party congress to elect a new leadership can be held.[3][4]

Opinion polls

Poll results are listed in the tables below in reverse chronological order, showing the most recent first, and using the date the survey's fieldwork was done, as opposed to the date of publication. If such date is unknown, the date of publication is given instead. The highest percentage figure in each polling survey is displayed in bold, and the background shaded in the party's colour. In the instance that there is a tie, then no figure is shaded. Polls show data gathered between PSOE voters/supporters.
