Neko Press
Neko Press, or Neko Press Comics, is an alternative comic book publisher owned and operated by Billy Martinez. Aside from Martinez's own works, such as Kickass Girl, Neko Press publishes the works of Dark One, Butch Adams of Butcher Brand / Straitjacket Studios, and Foo Swee Chin.
Information
Billy Martinez, founder and publisher of Neko Press has worked in the comic industry since the year of 1993. He entered the comic scene with his cult classic title Wildflower which landed him a solid ten-year run of the series which was later picked up in various installments in Heavy Metal Magazine. In the year of 2004, Billy Martinez also began producing a line of paintings for various galleries and live art shows. He then began a new compilation of some of his works that he called "Girls." Due to the books release,it became one of the best selling titles for Neko Press which helped launch his series of paintings.[1] He is familiar with working with many medias such as acrylics, water colors, story boarding, Adobe Photoshop and works with Painter X and has taught art classes for over 23 years at Neko Press Art Studio's. He has painted at various live art festivals, clubs, Ray at Night (Mesh), and several other locations and has been presented at many galleries all over San Diego, which also include viewings in cafes and stores. Billy Martinez has created the following:
