National Western Life Insurance Company is an American stock life insurance company headquartered in Austin, Texas.[2][3] The company was founded in 1956, and as of 2011 it has about 278 employees and 13,200 contracted independent agents and operates in 49 US states. It also has operations in Central America, the Caribbean, South America, Europe, Asia, and some Pacific Rim countries.[3] The company offers individual universal life plans, term insurance plans, and whole life plans.[1]
