NIPER Hajipur established in 2007, is an Indian public Pharmacy research university, and a part of the seven schools, under India's Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. The institute offers Masters and Doctoral degrees in pharmaceutical sciences. As an Institute of National Importance it plays an important role in the Human Resource Development for the ever growing Indian Pharmaceutical industry, which has been in the forefront of India’s science-based industries with wide ranging capabilities in this important field of drug manufacture. [1][2]
Under the Mentor institute, RMRIMS, Patna, the institute offers a 2 year MS(Pharm) degree course and PhD Degree; MS (Pharm.) in 3 disciplines ( Pharmacoinformatics, Biotechnology and Pharmacy Practice) and Also PhD degree in all three branch.[3]

The Department of Pharmaceuticals has envisaged an investment ₹3,000 crore to set up ten more National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) over the next five years to enhance availability of skilled human resources in the pharma sector.
The proposal to set up ten additional NIPERs is one of the many proposals, worth ₹12,280 crore, that have been submitted to the Planning Commission by the Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP) under the 12th Five Year Plan.
