Nanning Rail Transit or Nanning Metro is a rapid transit system under construction in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Line 1 officially started construction on December 29, 2011 .[1] The first section from Nanhu to Nanning East Railway Station (11.2 km) began operation June 28, 2016.[2] Line 1 will be 32.1 km long with 25 stations.[1] Line 2 started construction in 2012 with a 2017 deadline.[3] It is planned that by 2030 there will be eight lines.[1]
