Company Overview

Namibian Cultural Association is an association (Non Governmental Organization) formed under the French Law of Associations of 1901, commonly known as «Association de Loi 1901». It is an association for Namibians living in France and the nearby European countries. The idea of forming an association for Namibians was born on 21 March 2009 at the Namibian Independence celebrations in Lyon, France. There was first of all a need among Namibians in France and the nearby countries like Switzerland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, etc. to come together, know each other and share experiences. Namibians in the above mentioned countries are generally few and are normally isolated, therefore the need of coming together and strengthening a Namibian network in Europe was primordial. There was also a need of collaborating with French nationals and the European countries nearby. The goal is to promote the exchange of cultural and humanistic values between the above mentioned countries and the Namibians living in it. Namibia cultural Association believes that shared activities and exchanges are an unrivaled means of not only creating international understanding, but also better communication amongst Namibians in Europe. This will involve having gatherings and making friends, regulates social behavior and creates a feeling of belonging for Namibians. Namibia cultural Association also believes that it can play an important role in promoting international relations at a cultural level.

General Information

The association also aims at making concrete programs of exchange between Namibian artists and their French counterparts. The purpose is to support cross-country understanding through culture, art and music, and encourage the broadest possible participation in cultural activities for members.
