Nakagawa (中川村 Nakagawa-mura) is a village located in Kamiina District, Nagano Prefecture, Japan.

As of 2003, the village has an estimated population of 5,412 and a density of 70.24 people per km². The total area is 77.05 km².

History

In 1958, Katagiri Village and Okusajoshi Village merged to form Nakagawa. The name Nakagawa comes from the Tenryu River, which flows through the middle of the two former villages.

Administration

The current mayor of the Nakagawa is Mr Itsuro Soga. His term of office started in 2005.
