Naervaer is an ambient/neofolk band from Kristiansand, Norway, and consists of the two existing members Terje Sagen and ex-vocalist in progressive metal band In the Woods..., Jan Kenneth "Transit" Transeth. The word "naervaer" means "presence" in Norwegian. The band was formed in 1993, but it is unknown if the band still is active today.
