NIMCET

NIMCET is the national level entrance test for admission to Master of Computer Applications (MCA) courses in selected National Institutes of Technology (NITs).[1] A total of 11 NITs offer MCA. Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Calicut, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli and Warangal take admission based on NIMCET rank. (LIST).[2]

The Master of Computer Applications (short form MCA) course is one of the most sought after courses offered in the NITs and has a high job potential in the software houses in India and abroad. The first common admission test, NIMCET-05, was conducted in 2005. About 13,000 candidates appeared for NIMCET-05 for 420 seats available in NITs. Candidates with an aggregate (all subjects put together) of 60% marks (6.5/10 CGPA) in bachelor's degree of minimum duration of 3 years from a recognized University in any discipline, with Mathematics as one of the subjects both in graduation and at 10+2 level are eligible.
