Morgan Kane is a planned movie based on the novels El Gringo and El Gringo's Revenge.

Plot

Lightning fast gunslinger, Morgan Kane, known as “El Gringo”, narrowly escapes death by joining a dangerous gang of Mexican outlaws run by a feared bandido - Coyote. They become fast friends and are feared through all of Mexico. But when a powerful landowner hires the men to destroy his longtime rival, El Gringo and Coyote are forced to choose between loyalty and the way of the gun.

Production

In the spring of 2011, WR Films Entertainment Group acquired worldwide rights to do film adaptations of Morgan Kane, and announced that they were planning on producing three major motion pictures based on the books.[1]

The film is being produced by Mark Huffam (claimed by WR Entertainment, not confirmed by Mark Huffam himself), and it is anticipated to receive an R rating. The film was reported to begin production in Mexico in 2016, with a budget of $27 million, but no actual news about any ongoing filming had reached the public by September 2016. Despite the late start, the film has recently been listed on IMDB as being ready for release in US movie theatres on 28 May 2016. This clearly did not happen. Putting some pressure on themselves, the production team also lists Morgan Kane 2 as having a planned release date just one year later, on 28 May 2017, and according to the same list, Morgan Kane 3 should be out on 28 May 2018.
