Moiez

Moiez Babar (born May 10, 1992), known by his stage name Moiez, is a Canadian electronic dance music producer and DJ from Surrey, British Columbia.[1] He is known primarily for his progressive and electro house productions, however his remixes show his versatility as a producer, spanning genres from hip-hop to trance.

Moiez began producing and composing in 2009 as part of the duo TheSoundCrate. While working as a member of TheSoundCrate, Moiez entered and won a remix contest for the popular Canadian hip-hop artist K-OS, hosted by Indaba Music. Moiez’ remixes of K-OS’ tracks “4-3-2-1” and “Burning Bridges” were featured on K-OS' 2009 album "Yes[2]", which debuted at #9 on the Canadian Albums Chart! After hearing the song "Light The Skies [Retrobyte] Remix" and listening to the work of Armin van Buuren and Tiesto, Moiez decided to pursue his solo career in EDM. He got his first break as a solo artist producing the official remix of “Bang Bang” by pop artist KAY or My Name Is Kay in 2011.

In May 2012, Moiez began working under the management of FindNewJams. Under FindNewJams' management, Moiez was able to gain acclaim for his original and remix productions by reaching out to a wide range of Internet-based music publications, such as Elektro Magazine,[3] DJ Mag Canada,[4] and FreshNewTracks.[5] His breakthrough original mix "You Only Live Once"[6] garnered a coveted spot in The Hype Machine Top 20 in August 2012 and his December 2012 remix of "Apollo"[7] by Hardwell featuring Amba Shepherd rocketed to the top of The Hype Machine charts reaching the #3[8] spot in a matter of four days. Moiez has stated on Into The Mix DIY Radio that he has countless remixes and originals in the final stages of production, which are scheduled to be released in early 2013. His commercial repertoire includes his debut Beatport release, a remix of “Set Me Free"[9] by Markus Cole and Amarolas featuring Brenton Mattheus, which was released on January 7, 2013 on Subtone Records. In February 2013, Moiez is scheduled to release his first commercially available original production, “Over You” featuring Dellara, on FindNewJams Records.
