Ministry of Public Security of Panama
The Ministry of Public Security was created by means of the Law No. 15 of 14 April 2010 and it was published in the official Gazette – G.Or. 26511-To of the National Assembly , Republic of Panama.
Mission
Determine the politics of security of the country to schedule, coordinate, control, support and adminsitrar the effort of the estamentos of security and intelligence that encuuentran adcritos to the Ministry.
Functions
1.Keep and defend the national sovereignty, look after the security, the tranquility and the public order in the country, as well as salvaguardar the life, honour and goods of his national and of the foreigners that are under his jurisdiction.
Faculties
1.Coordinate the services of public security and of humanitarian aid.
2.Coordinate the activity of the organisms of information and intelligence of the estamentos that estan adscritis to the Ministry for the effects of the public security of the country, in permanent coordination with the Council of National Security of the [[Ministry of the Presidency of Panama.]]
3.Promote political and actions of prevention of the crime. (Example:Program Safe Neighbourhoods)
4.Establish political and actions of protection , security and of the maintenance of the public order of those who find in the national territory of the Republic of Panama
5.Formulate,regulate and administer the politics for the prevention and scientific investigation of the delinquency, that affect of quantitative or qualitative way to the community in collaboration of the Public Ministry of Panama
6.Collect the information and analyse the studies and the proposals to warn ,avoid and repress any danger, threat or aggression against the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Panamanian State.
7.Promote the adecuación and maintenance of the equipment of the estamentos of public security for the exert of his operative and administrative functions.
8.Coordinate and reglamentar with his dependencies the related with the companies of private security, companies armeras and of explosives in Republic of Panama.
9.Coordinate and supervise with other institutions or services of public security foreigners the execution of the agreements and international agreements in which the Republic of Panamásea signataria. Promote the professional qualification of his human resource. Reglamentar The special disciplinary diet of the services of public security. Exert the other functions that establish him the law.
