The Afghan Ministry of Education (Pashto: د افغانستان د تعليم او تربيې وزارت)is responsible for policy formulation, the organization and supervision of education in Afghanistan.[1] Its headquarters is located in Kabul. The current Education Minister is Assadullah Hanif Balkhi, appointed in May 2015.[2] The previous acting minister was Ghulam Farooq Wardak. The Ministry of Education provides a semi-annual report to inform the public of advancements in Afghanistan's education sector.[3]
