Mike Ginn is a New Zealand film and television actor. Best known role as Gem in Power Rangers RPM. Played Riley in Blood Punch, Jackie Chan in Flat3, a speed-freak in 13 Steps, Vincent Wong in My Wedding and Other Secrets. Ginn also had a small role in The Hopes and Dreams of Gazza Snell and portrayed Lloyd in Amazing Extraordinary Friends.

Early life and education

Ginn was born and raised in New Zealand[1] and is of Chinese descent.[2]

After realizing his passion for acting and drama in elementary school,[2] Ginn commenced drama studies in 2005,[3][4] graduating in 2007 with a Bachelor of Performing and Screen Arts from Unitec Institute of Technology in Auckland.[5]

Career

A year after his graduation from drama school, Ginn, as a local actor, was hired for the role of Gem on the children's television series Power Rangers RPM (2009).[3][4][6]

Following his break and after gaining exposure  both domestically in New Zealand and internationally  Ginn has featured in various works, including the romantic comedy film My Wedding and Other Secrets (2011).

Ginn has also acted on the stage, performing in a theatre production titled White Trash Omnibus.[7]

Personal life

Ginn is based in the United States in Los Angeles, California.[6]

Ginn has a fraternal twin brother named Ken.[8] A graduate of the University of Auckland with a double degrees Bachelor of Health Sciences (B.H.Sc.) and Bachelor of Laws with Honours (LL.B. (Hons.)), Ken Ginn is a lawyer in Australia[9] and is the founding president of the Asian Students in Auckland at the University of Auckland.[10]
