Mike Aho is a producer, director and writer. He served as SVP of Factual Entertainment at Shine America and currently Head of Development West Coast for Core Media Group.[1][2]

Career

Mike Aho moved to Paris, France at 18 years old, attended the Paris-Sorbonne University,[3] then graduated from UCLA's School of Film and TV.[4] He won the Charles Boyer Fellowship which took him back to Paris where he began his career in unscripted TV. He was the show runner and director for M6 (TV channel) "StarNews" and "Grandeur Nature".[5][6][7][8] He also wrote and directed several feature award winning documentaries.[9][10][11][12][13]

After 10 years in Europe, Mike returned to Los Angeles as a producer on Queer Eye,[14] The Bachelorette[15] and the show runner of TLC's Take Home Chef.[16] After successfully developing and producing two series[17][18] for Glassman Media, he moved to Collins Avenue to become VP of Factual Television[19] producing and writing a prolific amount of content.[20]

On December 17, 2013 Shine America President Eden Gaha, announced Mike Aho's role as Senior Vice President, Factual Entertainment.[21] The new role entailed leading Shine America's docu-series development and production efforts, identifying original stories for the U.S. market that can also be formatted globally.[22] On September 24, 2014 Nat Geo Wild confirmed a 6 episode order of Aloha Vet[23] to be co-produced by Eden Gaha and Mike Aho.
