Michele Nicoletti (Trento, 19 November 1956) is an Italian politician and philosopher.

He has been elected to the Chamber of Deputies with the political elections of 24–25 February 2013. He is a member of the Commission of Twelve, an advisory body for the implementation of the Statute of the Trentino Alto-Adige in Italy and also Provincial Secretary of the Democratic Party of Trentino until 16 March 2014. On August 6, 2014, he became President of the Italian Parliamentary Delegation to the Council of Europe.[1] He is also full Professor of political philosophy at the University of Trento, in Italy[2]

Life and career

He graduated with a degree in philosophy at Bologna and since 2001 has been Professor of Political Philosophy at the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy (Department of Philosophy, History and Cultural Heritage) and the School of International Studies of the University of Trento. Since 2011 he is Director of Studies and Research Center of Antonio Rosmini Rovereto.[3] In 2007 he was a Fulbright Distinguished Lecturer at the University of Notre Dame.

On August 6, 2014, he became President of the Italian Parliamentary Delegation to the Council of Europe.[4]

He currently lives and works in Trento and in Rome. He is married, with three children.
