Michaela Community School is a free school in Wembley Park, London Borough of Brent.[1] It was established by Katharine Birbalsingh.[2][3] The Chair of Governors is Suella Fernandes.[4] The school is oversubscribed with places awarded by lottery: more than half the pupils are eligible for pupil premium funding and free school meals, and almost half speak English as a second language.[1]

In July 2016, there was controversy about the school holding pupils in "lunch isolation" if their parents did not pay their meal fees.[5] Miss Birbalsingh later stated "It’s white, middle-class liberal guilt. They are not actually interested in educating these children" in criticism of those who raised concerns.[6]

A book, Battle Hymn of the Tiger Teachers,[7] written by teachers at the school and describing its methods, was published in November 2016.[8]
