Masters Olympia

The Masters Olympia is an international bodybuilding competition which was held annually by the International Federation of BodyBuilders (IFBB). The competition was created by Joe Weider in 1994 as a venue for former champions (some of whom had already won the IFBB Mr. Olympia) to continue to compete at the highest professional level past the age of 40. During its early years famous bodybuilders such as Lou Ferrigno, Robbie Robinson, Ed Corney, and Chris Dickerson competed in the Masters Olympia well into their 40's, 50's, and even 60's (there was a division for each age group). The contest ran every year (except 1998) until 2003 when the show was discontinued.

The show continued on as the IFBB Masters Professional World Championships. 2006 was the first Master's and was held in New York City on April 15, 2006. The contest was won by Bob Cicherillo.

The Masters Olympia was revived in 2012 and held in Miami Beach, Florida. The contest was won by 2008 Mr. Olympia Dexter Jackson, making him only the second bodybuilder (along with Chris Dickerson) to win titles in both the Mr. Olympia and Masters Olympia competitions.

Vince Taylor (bodybuilder) has the most Masters Olympia titles with five (1996, 1997, 1999-2001)
