Career

Fulham

Bettinelli joined Fulham in 2011 as part of the U21 youth team.

In August 2012, he joined Dartford on loan to gain first team experience.[2] Bettinelli made his debut for the club three days after signing for the club, in a 2–0 loss against Macclesfield Town.[3] Having made seven appearance so far, his loan spell was extended for another month.[4] This would happen again, as it was extended until Christmas.[5] He went on to make 35 league appearances for the club before returning in March 2013.[6] After his loan spell with Dartford came to an end, Bettinelli says:

I really enjoyed it. It was my first real experience of going out on loan and I really enjoyed my time there. The lads and the coaching staff were brilliant, and the fans were great and I can only look back with happy views. At the start of the season if you were to say to me that I was going to go and play nearly 40 games in the Conference, and stay injury free, then I would have snatched your hand off in an instant.[7]

On 28 August 2013, Bettinelli joined Accrington Stanley on a one-month loan deal.[8]

He made his debut the same day in the League Cup against Cardiff City[8] and his Football League debut on 31 August 2013, in a 1–0 home defeat to Burton Albion[9]

Fulham confirmed on 2 September 2013, that Bettinelli would stay with Accrington Stanley for the full 2013–14 season,[10] but he was recalled on 26 December 2013[11] and was named as a substitute in Fulham's 2–1 league win over Norwich City as cover for David Stockdale.[12] On 2 January 2014, he rejoined Accrington Stanley on loan until 30 January 2014.[13]

Bettinelli agreed a two-year extension to his contract on 10 January 2014, which will keep him at Fulham until June 2016.[14]

International career

On 6 November 2014, Bettinelli was called up to the England U21 squad for the first time for matches against Portugal and France.[15] He made his debut for the under-21 side in Prague against the Czech Republic in a 1–0 win on 27 March 2015.[16]
