Family

María was a daughter of Don Joaquín M. Lara and his wife, Doña María Aguirre del Pino.[3][4][5] Her aunt was Doña Refugio Aguirre del Pino.

Elder brother of María was Agustín Lara,[6] who was a song writer and composer, singer and actor. He received honours.[7]

Her sister-in-law was famous and beautiful María Félix (La Doña),[8] mother of actor Enrique Álvarez Félix, who appeared in many telenovelas.[9]

She worked with Agustín on several songs and married Nicanor Guzmán Guerrero (1909 – 1992). Some of Agustín’s songs were copyrighted in her name.
