Manuel Alejandro Medrano López (October 29, 1987, Sincelejo, Colombia), simply known as Manuel Medrano, is a Colombian pop singer[1] and winner of two Latin Grammy Awards.

Start

His beginnings in music are thanks to the support of his family. The story of Manuel Medrano begins when he failed a school year, and as a "punishment" (consolation prize) he was given a guitar. From the age of 16 he began to write his songs, which motivated him to begin his career as a soloist.[2]
He played in several bars in Bogota for several years while composing several of the songs that years later would give him recognition at the national level.

Reconigtion

In August 2014 it releases Out of the planet, its first single of independent way, which little by little it took the national radios to the point to make it one of the songs of the year and to give him two nominations to the Shock Prizes of the music to Better artist New and Best Shock Presents.

At the beginning of 2015 he signed with the multinational Warner Music and released his second promotional single "Bajo el Agua" months later, which accumulates more than 75,000,000 views on YouTube and has received a major reception in Colombia and Mexico.

In the year 2016 he won two Latin Grammy Awards as: Best New Artist and Best Songwriting Album.

Manuel Medrano composes romantic music which he calls pop-cast, because it does not descend from a specific genre, if not from various influences of Latin American singer-songwriters[3]..
