Manmeet Singh (born 29 July 1969 in Haldwani Uttarakhand, )[1] is an Indian actor and model. His wife Sunmeet Kaur Sawhney won the jackpot prize of Rs. 5 crores in Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 6 in January 2013.

Early life

Singh was born in July 1969 in Haldawani, Nainital. He is the son of S. Ajit Singh Sawhney who was an Amritdhari Sikh. He had his Khande di Pahul ceremony when he was in college in 1988. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Communications from G.N. Khalsa College Bombay in 1991.[2] While he was at the Guru Nanak Public school Chandigarh, he became interested in singing and acting while studying in tenth in 1985–86.[2] Manmeet is married to Sunmeet Kaur Sawhney.

Career

He started his career as an actor and model in 1999. Since Singh's first movie Jungle by Ramgopal Varma, he has acted in more than 23 movies. He played characters in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi by Yash Raj Films, Bombay To Bangkok and Swami. He was also in the Tamil film Abhiyum Naanum.

Manmeet Singh has modeled in more than 120 television commercials, including Indiabulls, and HP TurboJet Diesel.

He will soon be seen in the Hollywood movie Heart Land as Billoo.
