Amanda Saccomanno (born July 18, 1991) is an American model, professional wrestler and television personality currently signed to WWE under the ring name Mandy Rose, performing on their developmental territory NXT.

In 2015, she placed second on the WWE competition WWE Tough Enough. That same year, she signed a contract with WWE and joined the reality television show Total Divas, which is produced by WWE and E!.[7]

Early life and modelling career

Amanda Saccomanno was born and raised in an Italian-American family on Westchester County, New York, and is the youngest of four children.[8] She is of Italian and Irish heritage.[8] She attended Yorktown High School, where she participated in dance. She later earned her bachelor's degree at Iona College, majoring in speech pathology.[8][9]

Rose entered her first fitness competition in 2013, and took first place in the World Bodybuilding Fitness & Fashion Boston Show. She was also crowned the 2014 World Beauty Fitness & Fashion Bikini Champion.[9]

Tough Enough (2015)

Amanda was a contestant in the sixth season of the WWE competition WWE Tough Enough, which began airing in June 2015.[4][10][11] She was at risk of elimination on the July 28 episode, but was saved by judge The Miz.[12] During the season finale, She adopted the ring name Mandy Rose and had a match against Alicia Fox she placed second overall, after winners Sara Lee and Josh Bredl.[13][14]

NXT (2015–present)

After the Tough Enough season finale, it was revealed that Rose had signed a five-year contract with the company.[15] Rose made her in-ring debut for WWE's developmental territory, WWE NXT, during a six-Diva tag team match at a live event in Venice, Florida on January 30, 2016.[16] On the August 17 episode of NXT, Rose made her first televised appearance and in–ring debut where she competed in a six-woman tag team match along with Daria Berenato, and Alexa Bliss, in which they were defeated by Carmella, Liv Morgan, and Nikki Glencross.[17] On the September 28 episode of NXT, Rose competed on her first singles televised match, where she was defeated by Ember Moon.[18]

Rose appeared as part of the main cast for the fifth season of the WWE reality television series Total Divas, which began airing in January 2016.[19][7][20]

Personal life

Rose is a supporter of animal rights and adoption. She participates in yoga, pilates, and CrossFit.[21][3] Her childhood nickname was “Hamburgers”.[21] Saccamanno's family owns a delicatessen in Carmel, New York. She has a boyfriend named Michael, and their relationship was featured on Total Divas.[22][23]
