Manasvi Mamgai (born 10 October 1989)[1] is an Indian actress and Supermodel who was crowned Femina Miss India 2010, Miss Tourism International 2008 and Elite Model Look India 2006. She represented India at Miss World 2010. She made her Bollywood debut in 2014 with the Eros International film Action Jackson directed by Prabhu Deva opposite Ajay Devgan.

Early life

Manasvi Mamgai was born in Delhi, but points out that her roots are from Uttarakhand .[2][3] She did her schooling in Chandigarh. While at school she excelled in dancing and skating. By the age of 14 she won multiple state awards in dancing, including Dancer of the Year trophy awarded by the Chandigarh Institute of Performing Arts and the best dancer award by the Chandigarh Art Theatre. She also has many medals in skating, the best being the running trophy in V.L. Shah memorial All-India Open Skating championships. She was also the assistant editor of her school magazine.[3]

Modeling career

Mamgai was spotted by Elite Model Management India.[4] And she went on to win Elite Model Look India 2006[5] The same year she also debuted at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, where she was chosen as one of 16 "New Faces Going Places". Since then she has walked the ramp for many top Indian designers,[6] shot campaigns for Fair and Lovely, Tarun Tahiliani, Manish Malhotra, Sunsilk and many other, and shot fashion features and covers for top Indian and international magazines like Vogue, Elle, Femina, Verve, Cosmopolitan etc.[7]

Beauty pageant career

Mamgai won the Miss Tourism International held in Malaysia on 31 December 2008, she also won the Miss Popular subtitle in the contest by voting.[8][9] On April 30, 2010 she was crowned Femina Miss India, winning five subtitles including Miss Golden Heart, Miss Catwalk, Miss Natural Beauty in the pageant.[10] She represented India at the Miss World 2010, she was selected as one of the 8 contestants to open the Miss World Finale that year in the Dances of the world, the very first time India graced the Dances of the World stage. [11]
