Malleus Rock art lab

Malleus is an art collective from Italy mostly dedicated to handmade silkscreen printing, which has worked to create posters for a lot of bands during the years, including The Black Keys, Dresden Dolls, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Iggy Pop, the Melvins, Mono, Monster Magnet, Motorpsycho, the Prodigy, Queens of the Stone Age, Ufomammut.[1] and many more. The trio is formed by Urlo and Poia of Ufomammut and Lu.

Most Malleus posters revel in the female form and the women are portrayed as exotic, erotic, mysterious and powerful. The art nouveau period from the late 19th and early 20th century is the most immediate and obvious influence, especially Alphonse Mucha and Gustav Klimt, but the trio also take cues from a wide range of other sources, including US comic artists Rick Griffin, Mike Mignola and Jack Kirby.
