Making My Way is a song written by Irish singer-songwriter Gemma Hayes and is the second single release in Ireland from her fifth studio album Bones+Longing.
Background & Release
A preview of the track was made available during the recording process on June 24, 2014.[1] It was revealed in Irish press reports the track would be used in the 2014 Aldi Ireland advertising campaign.[2] In early October 2014, Gemma performed the song at a special press call for the advertising campaign in Dublin.[3] On November 6, 2014 the advert premiered on RTÉ One.[4] The track appeared as in the Irish iTunes store on November 6, 2014.[5] The song has been picked up by a number of radio stations in Ireland including RTÉ 2XM[6] and News Talk.[7]
The track initially appeared on her fifth studio album as 'Making My Way' due to an error.
Charts
In the first week of its release the single appeared in the Irish iTunes singles chart at #34[8] and the Irish Singles Chart at #97.[9] A second week in the Irish Singles Chart it moved up to #38.[10]
